It has a single brown seed inside and grows in clusters on the Indian evergreen tree (Euphoria longana). It ripens later and withstands lower temperatures than the Lychee fruit. Its pulp is white with a delicate flavor and good balance of sweetness and acidity. The fragrance is pleasant and slightly woody.
