I can just see that as a horror movie... "The Killer Hairy Yoyos from Hell". And an obligatory sequel, "The Return of the Killer Hairy Yoyos from Hell."
The basic plot would be something like this: The earth is attacked by a cross between a critter and a yoyo. They'd mask themselves as regular, if fluffy, yoyos, but as soon as someone picks them up by the string and they get close to that person's hand, they turn all toothy and devour the human. The world will be saved by a superhero with scissors and an electric razor.
